This Programmes has been designed with the aim of developing a learner with Jewellery design concept.

What You Learn

What is design?, Designing concepts, drawing & designing, Basics of different kinds of stones, Illustration of metal and stones with proportion in color for realistic effects, Ways to draw and paint your own design, Designing of various jewellery e.g. rings, bangles, earring etc., Details and different in Men’s and Women’s jewellery designs Introduction to gold & its color / karat.

JD-202 – CAD JEWELLERY DESIGN

Diploma Program Overview

Considering the diamond of Indian handmade as well as cast jewellery in India and abroad such as US, JAPAN, Middle east & Gulf Countries, there is a vast scope of career in jewellery designing. This programme has been designed to produced high skilled professionals for jewellery industry at par with international designers. As such the module will be helpful to those wishing to pursue their career in Jewellery designing. A trained person can work as an free-lance jewellery designed or secure a job with the jewellery manufacturers / traders.

What You Learn

Technical drawing concepts, Computer fundamentals, Computer-aided Jewellery designing using either Jewel CAD or I-Deas or Rhinos, 3-D Jewellery design, modeling & rendering of designs. Exporting for CNC machine.

Theoretical aspect of Metals, Melting of Gold, karat System, Purity analysis od gold Cutting, Filing, Soldering, model for Prong, Bezel etc. Making of Rings, Pendants or Replica units.

Rapid Prototyping of CAD based designs on CAM machines.

JM-201 – CAM JEWELLERY MANUFACTURING

Diploma Program Overview

This programme is designed to minimize expenditure on master patterns by following CAD/CAM technology and also to reduce the time factor by way of producing skilled artisans who shall be able to generated master prototypes of the designs made onto computers.

Monday to Friday only

Either of the following (depending on the availability & as decided by the management of the institute) 10.30 – 13.30 or 14.00– 17.00

What You Learn

Theoretical aspects of Metals, Meting of Gold, Karat System, Purity analysis of gold, Cutting, Filing, Soldering, Collute Prong, Bezel, Baguette, Taper, Square, Pear etc. Making of Rings, Pendants or Replica units.

Making Models using Model Maker machine.

JM-202 – GOLD ASSAYING

Diploma Program Overview

Refining process is involved to recover the gold which is lost during the process of jewellery making. The aim behind introducing this programme is to make aware of the losses which can be recovered by the refining process, Assaying enables the participant in assessing the percentage of gold & alloy contents in a given specimen.

Monday  – Friday: 10.30 – 13.30 or 14.00 – 17.

What You Learn

Various method for recovery of gold from gold bearing scrap & jewellery’s sweep such as wet chemical, preliminary treatment, melting material into button, removing base material with acids, dissolving gold in aqua regia, evaporating off the excess nitric acid, recovering the dissolved gold by alternative methods along with identifying the metals in solutions.
