What is design?, Designing concepts, drawing & designing, Basics of different kinds of stones, Illustration of metal and stones with proportion in color for realistic effects, Ways to draw and paint your own design, Designing of various jewellery e.g. rings, bangles, earring etc., Details and different in Men’s and Women’s jewellery designs Introduction to gold & its color / karat.

JD-102 – CAD JEWELLERY DESIGN

Programmes Overview

Considering the diamond of Indian handmade as well as cast jewellery in India and abroad such as US, JAPAN, Middle east & Gulf Countries, there is a vast scope of career in jewellery designing. This programme has been designed to produced high skilled professionals for jewellery industry at par with international designers. As such the module will be helpful to those wishing to pursue their career in Jewellery designing. A trained person can work as an free-lance jewellery designed or secure a job with the jewellery manufacturers / traders.

Basic of metals, pricing, alloying, soldering, refining Indian & International Jewellery market: trade & trends, 4Cs of diamonds, Basics of gemstones identification Jewellery costing & valuation methods Jewellery production process.

JM-101 – JEWELLERY MAKING

Programmes Overview

The making correct piece of individual pieces of jewellery is Paramount even in this technical age. The casting process also commences from hand made master pattern by traditional methods. This programme is designed tom produced skilled artisans who shall be able to make jewellery and their master pattern manually.

Theoretical aspect of Metals, Melting of Gold, Karat System, Purity analysis of gold Cutting, Filing, Soldering, Collute – Prong, Bezel, Baguette, etc Making of Rings, Pendants or Replica units, finishing techniques..

Programmes Overview

Supervise a Jewellery Casting Unit or those aspiring to establish their own unit. At the end of the Programmes, each candidate is expected to get an overall idea of Jewellery Casting process.

Mould frame packing, Mould cutting, Rubber mould making, Waxing, Investing and use o burnout furnace, Metal casting, Sprue cutting, Finishing processes, causes of porosity (theoretical)

JM-103 – STONE SETTING

Programmes Overview

Considering the demand of Indian handmade as well as cast Jewelleries in India and abroad such as US, JAPAN, Middle East & Gulf Countries, there is a vast scope of career in stone setting. This programme has been designed to produced skilled artisans for jewellery industry so as they can give better yield. Candidate undergoing this Programmes will have fairly good knowledge of setting techniques. After successful completion of Programmes, candidate will be able to do the setting of stones as per the requirement. A trained person can get a job with the Jewellery manufacturers.

Evolution of setting, Importance, Stone setting tools – description & purpose, General skill & techniques, types of setting – prong setting, bezel setting, channel setting, fishtail setting, Theoretical aspect of invisible setting.
Student will be practically exposed to any two types of settings they opt for.
